I grew
up in the Glasgow area in the West of Scotland and have lived there
all my life, preferring to remain local for family reasons, and also
because I like the area. I have, however, traveled extensively. I studied Electronics and Electrical Engineering and soon moved into project management and ultimately business leadership generally. A highlight of my plc career was as Programme Director for the Type 45 Destroyer Programme at BAE (formerly Yarrows) and I had a significant hand in bringing the contract for six ships to the Clyde where several of the class can be seen in various stages of construction. Since 2001, I have been Managing Director of David Fraser Ltd (formerly Dunyvis Ltd), a provider of board-level enabling services to public and private sector organisations, particularly those collaborating across the public-private sector boundary. The services provided consist of project and programme management and coaching in the sophisticated interpersonal and relationship skills needed to be successful in these contexts. I have links to both Glasgow and Strathclyde Universities. I have been involved in the development of early stage companies. I
am married to Catriona and we have three young children. My interests
are sailing, hill-walking and Scottish traditional music, when time permits. |
